California Girl Scouts (CAGS) Backpacking has just launched their website and facebook page! This is a way for GS leaders across CA & beyond to share resources & support. I did this last year & learned a lot! Overnights are May 2 or June 6. Los Padres Wilderness Basics Course GS Backpacking Summer Camp There are a few overnight GS summer camps that offer backpacking. Camp Artemis (GSCCC) July 19-25 entering grades 5-12 Santa Cruz mountains http://www.artemisleads.org/ Camp Athena (GSCCC) June 13-June 19 Paso Robles Mountains August 8- August 12 Ojai Mountains www.campathenaowls.com Butano Creek Camp (GS NorCal) Sessions June 27-Aug 1. Marins Gear Lending I've got a mixture of personal & program backpacking gear I can lend to Girl Scouts for a fee ($3-20 per item per trip, meant to cover wear & tear) My goal is to enable more girls to get outside!
